Thrissur: The special investigation team probing the death of Jishnu Pranoy has blamed authorities at the Nehru Institute of Engineering and Technology at Pambady for his death.
The police report has said that college management had mere allegations and no solid evidence to prove that Jishnu had cheated during the exam. The college acted with vengeance, the report alleged.
The management harbored ill feelings towards Jishnu as the first year student was part of certain strikes and had voiced displeasure over college decisions, Manorama News reported Monday.
Jishnu, son of Ashokan in Nadapuram, was found hanging inside his college hostel in January. Though he was rushed to hospital by friends, they could not save him. Jishnu was allegedly harassed by the college authorities on charges of malpractices during examination. The management denied the allegations saying they had only advised the student.
