Thrissur: Nehru Group of Institutions chairman P. Krishnadas was arrested for his alleged involvement in the death of engineering student Jishnu Pranoy.
Krishnadas' arrest was recorded after he was questioned at the office of the deputy superintendent of police (DySP), Irinjalakuda. He was released later as the Kerala High Court has already granted him anticipatory bail.
Krishnadas is the prime accused in the case relating to the death of Jishnu, who was found hanging at the hostel of the Nehru College of Engineering at Pamabadi, Thrissur, in January. It has been alleged that the student committed suicide following physical and mental harassment by college authorities, including Krishnadas.
Krishnadas' arrest comes even as Jishnu's mother and other relatives had announced a strike in front of the DGP's office in Thiruvananthapuram from Wednesday.
