For the first show of the mega movie Odiyan, film maker VA Shrikumar Menon was spotted wearing a unique jacket which grabbed eyeballs. The sleeveless jacket featured a hand painted image of Odiyan Manikyan, and the director flaunted the attire with elan.

The jacket soon became the talk of the town and the pictures of it went viral on the social media as well. It was jacket designer Jishad, a native of Thrissur, who made the customized jacket for Shrikumar Menon. The young designer has prepared an amazing ‘Odiyan’ jacket for the film’s hero, superstar Mohanlal as well.

Jishad’s jackets are extremely stylish, designed to perfectly suit the personality of the wearer. Earlier too his designs have grabbed attention and many stars were seen wearing Jishad’s creations. Jishad talks to Onmanorama about his now popular Odiyan jacket.

Odiyan jacket

“The day before Odiyan’s release I met Shrikumar sir. It was one of my friends Sajid who introduced me to the film-maker. He told that I was a jacket designer and that I had designed for Salman Khan. Shrikumar then asked me to design a customized jacket with Odiyan as the theme. That is how I did the Odiyan jacket in just a day,” revealed Jishad.

Jishad says that the handmade jacket was done in linen as denim didn’t suit the theme of Odiyan. He had used the color theme of one of the costumes worn by Mohanlal in the movie. He painted the elaborate sketch by hand using acrylic fabric paint.

Mohanlal’s jacket

Jishad is thrilled when he says that he had prepared a customized jacket for Mohanlal. The screen icon’s jacket is designed in denim and has the actor’s face, in Odiyan’s comeback look, painted on it. “Shrikumar sir said that Mohanlal liked my jacket and I could directly present it to him, this month itself, in Hyderabad,” says Jishad excitedly.

The actor was excited to wear the unique jacket which bore his name in the most stylish way. Jishad had also made a jacket in the theme of the Tamil movie ‘Singham’ and hopes to hand it over to actor Suriya soon.

“Footballer David Beckham is my fashion icon. My dream is to become his stylist. I can say that I am nearing towards achieving my dream. I hope to meet him in 2019. He has been my role model ever since my craze for fashion began. Beckham was such a great inspiration to me. Hopefully, my dream would soon come true,” Jishad signs off.
