Isha Ambani reveals she and her twin brother were born via IVF

Who wouldn't want to live like the Ambanis? Isha Ambani, who had a grand wedding recently, opened her mind about her life in India's biggest business family with parents Mukesh and Nita Ambani in an interview to Vogue magazine. She and brother were born seven years after their parents' wedding through IVF, Isha reveals.

Mother, the boss lady

She turned full-time mother when Akash and I were born. She returned to work once we turned five. But she is still a tiger mom. Whenever we have an argument, both of us call father to settle it. Mother is quite adamant. Father may not mind us bunking a class or two, but she won’t. She makes sure we eat, study and take breaks as required. Our grandparents on both sides too had a key role in shaping us, she says.

Father's hard work and virtues

Asked about being born and brought up in an esteemed, rich family, Isha talked about her hardworking father and his virtues most. “Mother and father were always busy. But they didn’t let work affect their duties as parents. I was born in 1991, when India was undergoing a major economic change. Economic liberalisation was making Indian dreams on a global scale. As a kid I have seen my father working very hard to build the Reliance Group we see today. Even when he worked the long hours, my father made sure he was available for us. They inculcated in us the same virtues they held high during their younger days. They made sure we valued wealth, hard work and humility.

Isha got married on 12 December 2018 to childhood friend and classmate Anand Piramal. She was wearing her mother’s wedding dress and veil, altered to perfection by stylist Ami Gupta, on her wedding day. Isha thanked her stylist on Instagram for making her look like a princess on her special day.

The celebrity mom

There is no family event without the participation of Nita Ambani. She dances at her daughter’s wedding and appears pretty in public events all the while keeping committed to her work and social life. Many wonder how she manages all this. Isha says immaculate balance of work and personal lives is an ability even she admires in her mother.
