Kochi: Meenu and Meera, twin daughters of Mamangalam natives Rajendran and Maya, would enquire before applying for jobs whether there are 2 vacancies available. The twins, who have never separated in school or college, doesn't want to end up at different places even after they are employed.

Meenu and Meera, both PhD holders from the Hyderabad Central University, have similar tastes in almost everything. It is common for twins to dress similarly in childhood and then change their preferences as they grow up. However, Meera and Meenu are not only united in birth but also in their preferences as well. After completing plus two, both of them opted for BA English course and since there was no much difference in their marks, the sisters secured admissions for the course at the prestigious St Theresa's College in Ernakulam. It was their ambition to do their post graduation at a central university. After clearing the entrance test, Meenu and Meera joined for post graduation at the Hyderabad Central University.

The twins completed their MPhil degrees together, and the duo cleared the UGC NET with JRF together as well.

After completing their education, the twins joined as faculties at the English department in their alma mater, St Theresa's College. They were also colleagues at the Karnataka Central University for some time. Meenu and Meera are presently working as assistant professors at Amritha School of Arts and Science.

Even now, the twins reach college wearing dresses in similar patterns. Only their family and close friends are able to tell them apart.
