New Delhi: The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has suspended the Kerala Olympic Association (KOA). An ad-hoc committee has also been appointed for the interim management and to conduct elections in the KOA, the IOA said in a statement released Wednesday night .
The IOA has said that the KOA elections that were due in 2017 were yet to be held. The last election was held in 2013.
The KOA has also not reportedly paid affiliation fees to Indian Olympic Association last year. The IOA also said that it had received complaints from various sports associations in Kerala regarding the dysfunctional governance at the KOA.
The IOA further said that it was inevitable for the national body to intervene in the administration.
The ad-hoc committee will be headed by chairperson - Mariamma Koshy (Kerala Hockey and Hockey India).
