New Delhi: Tamil Nadu beat holders Gujarat by five wickets to seal a spot in the semifinals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy one-day championship here on Sunday.
Gujarat, who chose to bat, were bowled out for 211 in 49.4 overs. Rujul Bhatt top-scored for Gujarat with a fighting 83, while opener Samit Gohel chipped in with 39. None of the other Guajrat batsmen crossed 20. Medium-pacer Vijay Shankar was the most successful bowler, claiming 3/48. Left-arm spinners Rahil Shah and R. Sai Kishore picked up a couple of wickets each.

Opener Ganga Sridhar Raju's fine 85 put Tamil Nadu on the road to victory. His 95-ball knock featured 12 hits to the fence. Though TN lost three quick wickets in the middle and slumped to 172/5, M. Mohammed's unbeaten 35 guided them home with 46 balls to spare.
Krunal on song for Baroda
Baroda, riding on Krunal Pandya's all-round show, outplayed Karnataka by seven wickets in another quarterfinal. Karnataka, who were put in to bat, were bundled out for 233 in 48.5 overs. Left-arm spinner Krunal scalped 3/32 off his six overs, while Pavan Deshpande top-scored with 54 for Karnataka.
Opener Kedar Devdhar (78) and Krunal (70) struck half-centuries as Baroda romped home in 45.5 overs.
