Getting hit wicket can be a really frustrating experience for a batsman and Quetta Gladiators' Anwal Ali found out the hard way during the Pakistan Super League match against Peshawar Zalmi at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium Thursday night.
To make matters worse for Ali, he had smashed pacer bowler Wahab Riaz for a six but his back leg had dislodged a bail. Even as the fans were busy celebrating the big hit, umpire Aleem Dar, who had spotted the incident, ruled the batsman out. Ali had stayed deep in the crease and played the shot over midwicket to almost perfection, but the hit wicket spoiled it all.
Peshawar Zalmi went on to win the match by five wickets with Skipper Darren Sammy coming good at the death with an unbeaten 16.
