Whangerei (New Zealand): Afghanistan began their Under-19 World Cup campaign in style, upsetting Pakistan by five wickets in a Group D encounter here on Saturday.

Pakistan were bowled out for 188 in 47.4 overs. They lost 7/42 from a comfortable 146/3. Fast bowler Azmatullah Omarzai and leg-spinner Qais Ahmed picked up three wickets apiece for Afghanistan.

Middle order batsman Darwish Rasooli did the star turn with a fine 76 off just 78 balls as the Afghans were home and dry in the 48th over.
