Thachankary troubling me for past 29 years: Sreelekha IPS

Thiruvananthapuram: R Sreelekha IPS has accused Transport Commissioner Tomin Thachankary of troubling her for the past 29 years. In a scathing criticism, Sreelekha IPS, who is now ADGP, State Crime Records Bureau, accused Thachankary of pulling the strings to get a case filed against her by the Vigilance Court.

In her Facebook post, she wrote that she was being haunted by Thachankary.

The Thrissur Vigilance Court had ordered a case to be filed against Sreelekha for her alleged involvement in a tax fraud associated with school buses.

The incident, which happened when Rishiraj Singh was in office as Transport Commissioner, assumed importance when Thachankary took office.

Sreelekha contends that she was not involved in the incident but Thachankary played behind the scenes to get a case filed against her in 2015.

She claimed that Thachankary has been haunting her since their IPS training period in 1987 and that he had colluded with the complainants to get her involved in the case.

Thachankary made the move because he knew that the judge at the Thrissur Vigilance Court would immediately order a case on any complaint, she claimed.

During the progress of the case, a confidential report filed by the Vigilance DySP, as ordered by the court, was leaked to the complainant and Thachankary was behind this also, Sreelekha alleged.

The lady officer ends her Facebook post saying that Thachankary wants to deny promotions and other positions due to this. She claimed that her health has deteriorated because of constant mental harassment from Thachankary and added that she could take it no more.

Thachankary has dismissed the post as puerile, wrong and unfounded and claimed that top officials knew who was haunting whom.

He also said that the violation of official codes by Sreelekha would be brought to the notice of senior officers.
