V S Achuthanandan

Kollam: The Administrative Reforms Commission (ARC) has removed its chairman VS Achuthanandan’s image from its website. His image was placed prominently on the site during Lok Sabha polls.

Images of commission members, former chief secretaries CP Nair and Neela Gangadharan and former additional chief secretary Sheela Thomas are intact. ARC sources said though VS was still chairman, they did not know how his image disappeared from the site.

The commission has submitted three reform reports to the government so far – on vigilance establishment, output of government employees and rights of children, women, elderly and the differently abled. Answering an RTI request, the commission said there was no information on government’s action on any of these reports.

ARC is set to submit another report on ‘sustainable development: Administrative issues’.

Its last meeting was in February.
