Special trains to Kerala for Sabarimala pilgrim season

Thiruvananthapuram: Considering the heavy rush of pilgrims to Sabarimala during the two-month long festive season, Southern Railways has announced four special services to Kerala from Chennai and Hyderabad.

The annual pilgrim season, observed in two phases, starts on Saturday for the 41-day 'mandala puja' festival which will conclude on December 27. It would then reopen for the grand 'Makaravilakku' festival on December 30 and close on January 20, marking the culmination of the pilgrim season.

1. Special fare special trains between Chennai Central and Kollam

The special fare special train (06047) from Chennai Central to Kollam will leave at 8.40 pm on December 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26, 31 December, January 2, 7, 9 & 14 and reach Kollam at 12 pm the next day.

In return, the train (06048) from Kollam to Chennai Central will leave at 3 pm on December 04, 06, 11, 13, 18, 20, 27, January 3, 8 and 10 and reach Chennai Central at 9.45 am the next day.

Stops: Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Ottappalam, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikkara and Kayamkulam.

Train No.06048 Kollam to Chennai Central special train will stop at Perambur also.

2. Special fare special trains between Chennai Central and Kollam

The special fare special train (06049) from Chennai Central to Kollam will leave at 8.40 pm on December 4, 18 and January 25 and reach Kollam at 12 pm the next day.

In return, train (06050) from Kollam to Chennai Central will leave at 3.00 pm on December 13, 20 and January 27 and reach Chennai Central at 7.20 am the next day.

Stops: Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Ottappalam, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikkara and Kayamkulam.

Train No.06050 Kollam to Chennai Central special train will stop at Perambur also.

3. Suvidha special trains between Chennai Central and Kollam

The Suvidha special train (82635) from Chennai Central to Kollam at 8.40 pm on January 11 and reach Kollam at 12 pm the next day.

In return, the train (82634) from Kollam to Chennai Central will leave at 3.00 pm on December 25 and January 1 and reach Chennai Central at 09.45 am the next day.

Stops: Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Ottappalam, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikkara and Kayamkulam.

Train No.82634 Kollam to Chennai Central Suvidha special train will stop at Perambur also.

4. Suvidha special trains between Kollam and Hyderabad

The Suvidha special the train (82721) will leave Hyderabad at 3.55 pm on November 17, 21, 25 and 29 and reach Kollam at 11:55 pm the next day.

In return, the train (82722) will leave Kollam at 3 am on November 19, 23, 27 and December 1 to reach Hyderabad at 10.30 am the next day.

Stops: Kayamkulam, Mavelikkara, Chengannur, Thiruvalla, Changanaserry, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrisur, Ottappalam, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Vaniyambadi, Katpadi, Tiruttani, Renigunta, Srikalahasthi, Venkatagiri, Gudur, Nellore, Kavali, Ongole, Chirala, Bapatla, Nidubrolu, Tenali, Vijayawada, Madhira, Khammam, Dornakal, Mahbubabad, Warangal, Kazipet, Janagaon, Cheralapali, and Secunderabad.
