Actor Kunju Mohammad passes away on film set


Kochi: Actor Kunju Mohammad, who was popularly known as Kunjikka, passed away here on Tuesday. The 68-year-old took ill on the sets of veteran director Sathyan Anthikad's upcoming movie 'Njan Prakashan' with Fahadh Faasil in the lead.

Mohammad collapsed during the movie shoot after suffering chest pain and was rushed to the Aster Medicity hospital but was declared dead by 5.55 pm on Tuesday.

Mohammad began his career in the industry as a production boy for the film 'Inapravukal' and was part of more than 100 films. He had a pivotal role in the 1989 Kamal movie 'Pradeshika Varthakal'.

He was also seen in small roles in the films of Kamal's associates including Lal Jose, Aashiq Abu, Akku Akbar and Sugeeth.

Many celebs reached hospital and offered condolences.
