Kochi: Radio Mango observed World Population Day, amid football fever gripping the city, in an unique manner.

A football tournament organised by Radio Mango in association with Bismi Group at the Maharaja's College ground here grabbed public attention -- both teams had 22 players each.

The number of players was doubled in an attempt to spread awareness about the need for population control.

The Indian Navy team emerged winners and the Kochi Metro team runners up. They were awarded cash prizes.
