Dubai: A Keralite businessman won US $1 million (approximately Rs 6,49,95,000) at the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw held on Monday. Ticket number 0471 in series 265 turned out to be lucky for Prabin Thomas.
The 40-year-old had bought several tickets in God's own Kerala, but Lady Luck chose to smile upon him at his very first attempt in Dubai.
An ecstatic Prabin Thomas said that he would expand his networking business and start a software firm with the prize money. He also thanked the organizers.
Indians have been regularly winning prizes at the big ticket draw. Keralite Harikrishnan V Nair had landed a whopping Rs 20 crore (Dh120 lakh) by winning the Big Ticket raffle draw held in January. Nishita Radhakrishna Pillai, from Parappanangadi in Malappuram, had won the Dh 10 million (approximately Rs 17,68,00,000) lottery in the Big Ticket raffle in April 2017.
A 33-year-old Indian in Dubai, Afzaan Jilla, got a luxury motorbike in the Finest Surprise motorbike draw.
