Thrissur: P N Sreenivasan, who was among the victims of the Pawan Hans helicopter crash in Mumbai on Saturday, was busy preparing for his son’s marriage when death came calling.

The engagement of his son Arjun Kiran, who works at the Bengaluru office of a foreign bank, was scheduled for March 30.

The kin and friends of Sreenivasan, most of whom live in and around Thrissur, are yet to come to terms with the death of their loved one.

His brother Krishnankutty and family had booked their tickets to travel to Mumbai to attend the function.

According to his relatives, Sreenivasan’s family, who moved to their new apartment in Mumbai last year, had visited them about four months ago. “They landed on October 18 to attend a relative’s wedding and stayed here for three days. They had plans to visit Thrissur on January 4 to attend a family function, but the trip was cancelled at the last minute.

Sreenivasan’s body was identified by his brother Surendran and brother-in-law Chandrasekharan. The cremation will be held in Mumbai.
