Thiruvananthapuram: Cyclone Ockhi claimed two more victims in Kerala on Wednesday, taking the toll in the tragedy to 73. The bodies recovered from Androth and Kasaragod are yet to be identified. One of the bodies was found by a search team from Beypore.
Meanwhile, three fishing boats that had gone missing from Kochi was found by the fisheries department's search and rescue team. All the 34 fishermen who were on the boat are safe and will be brought to the shore.
Prime minister Narendra Modi who addressed the fishing community at Poonthura had said all efforts would be taken to provide assistance to the community.
At the same time, search operations are continuing for the missing fishermen with the state government seeking support of local boat owners.
The government has decided to extend the search operations up to Goan shores.
The cyclone that hit the state on November 29-30 had also caused large-scale damage to property too.
