Kochi: Though the conspiracy to assault the actress had been first hatched in 2013, actor Dileep started forcing Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni, the key accused in the case, to execute his vicious plan following the death of the victim's father later in 2015, according to the supplementary charge sheet filed by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
Sunil, who was promised a reward of Rs 1.5 crore to commit the crime, had made at least five unsuccessful attempts to abduct the actress and capture her objectionable images and video footage as directed by Dileep, the police said. They could not execute the plan because of the presence of actress's father, who used to accompany her to the sets.
However, following his death on September 24, 2015, Dileep constantly persuaded Suni to carry out the 'quotation.'
The goon was asked to take visuals of the gang rape in captivity in a manner to reveal the identity of the victim.
About two months after the death of the actress' father, the accused met at Joys Palace Hotel in Thrissur on November 1, 2015, to give shape to the plot.
Dileep handed over an advance of Rs 10,000 to Suni and an additional Rs 1 lakh was deposited in the account of Suni's mother the next day, the supplementary charge-sheet submitted at the Angamaly judicial first class magistrate court added.
According to the charge sheet, Dileep wanted her to remain under his beck and call even after her marriage,
The charge-sheet says Dileep, the 8th accused, told Pulsar Suni, that he wanted to blackmail the actress with videotaped visuals so that she remains under his command even after her imminent marriage.
Suni was asked to record her intimate visuals with different people, the charge sheet says. He was also instructed to make sure that the ring on her finger was clearly visible in the videos. The police suspect that Dileep had assumed that she was wearing her betrothal ring.
