When he gave the car for service, the service center sent a message to its registered owner. The police had caught Kishore and Arun Gopan but could not locate the car.
Assistant superintendent of police, Kottayam, Chaitra Theresa John led the investigation. The car was seized by the police from Bengaluru. Arun Gopan is a habitual offender and has many cases of assault, robbery, and homicide against him. He is currently serving term in a different case; Kishore is out on bail in the car theft case.
