The Kerala police's handling of the protest by the relatives of Jishnu Prannoy is coming in for more criticism. Though the cops in front of the police headquarters patiently tried to reason it out with the protesters, including Jishnu's mother, the later actions looked high-handed.
Now, a video of inspector-general of police (IG), Thiruvananthapuram range, Manoj Abraham, shouting it out at a group of protesters has emerged. The officer is seen saying, "IG yodu venda kali (don't play games with the IG)." Later, a visually enraged officer orders all to hush up by placing his index finger on the lip.

Jishnu's father had stated that the police treatment was 'cruel.' Another relative of the victim also complained of assault.
The cops also came under fire after relatives alleged that Jishnu's mother, Mahija, was assaulted during a standoff between both parties in front of the police headquarters (PHQ) in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday.
