Worried about dandruff? Use coconut oil

Rich in vitamins and fatty acids, coconut oil prevents the scalp from dryness and inflammation

Dandruff is a common skin condition faced by people of all ages. It is formed when excess skin cells accumulate and flake off. There is, however, no known permanent cure for this condition that mainly affects the scalp. It can only be temporarily controlled using various remedies that suit the texture of the hair and the extent of dandruff formation.

Coconut oil that is a staple in our households is an effective remedy to control dandruff. Rich in vitamins and fatty acids, coconut oil prevents the scalp from dryness and inflammation. The anti bacterial properties and other nutrients contained in coconut oil aids hair growth as well.

Dry scalp produces too much sebum which increases the presence of microbial. Coconut oil prevents the excessive production of sebum and its anti-bacterial nature controls the microbial invasion as well. So, dandruff can be prevented to a certain extent by applying coconut oil on your scalp and hair.

How to use

Wash the hair using shampoo and comb the hair well. Take some coconut oil in your palm and massage it onto the scalp. The oil should be applied from the root to the tip of the hair for better results.
