Roopesh Prabhakaran’s brand new house is at Kumily where the misty mountains and the lush green tea gardens offer scintillating views. The chic and contemporary elevation instantly draws attention. The unique design features which make the house look like a three storied structure is the highlight of the exteriors. Interestingly, this mesmerizing house doesn’t look as if it has been built on a 7 cents rectangular plot.
The owner works abroad; so he had entrusted the construction of the house to the architect. Not just that, Roopesh, who is an artist himself, allowed his designer time and space as well, to come up with the most amazing plan. The advantage of it is visible in every unique feature of the house. The interiors are designed following the minimalist theme. Designer partitions and not walls are added to ensure privacy in the vast and spacious interiors.
The elegant wooden elements, pleasant LED light fittings and the beautiful ceiling patterns add a touch of luxury to the interiors. The wooden partition that separates the family living area and the dining space also acts as a design element. Artifacts are beautifully arranged on it to make it look unique and special. The ceiling pattern too goes well with the amazing design of the partition.
The stairway is closer to the dining area. The classy combination of glass and wood makes the stairway stand out. The wash area has been arranged below the stairway to save space.
The furniture is custom-made to suit the unique theme of the interiors. Bright hues that irritate the eyes or any other flamboyant furnishing do not have any place in this house. The ground floor has living and dining areas, kitchen with an adjacent work area and two bedrooms as well.
Meanwhile, a family and study area, a book shelf and a utility space have been arranged in the upper storey. The bedrooms are designed to grant a clean feel. The uniqueness in the headboards, high rests and in the ceiling patterns makes the bedrooms extremely attractive. These spaces are designed by giving prime importance to the likes and needs of the family members.
The kitchen is designed minimally, enhanced with the elegance of granite and laminates. A work area too has been arranged as part of the kitchen.
This house clearly shows how important it is for a designer to have his own time and space, when it comes to designing an abode. Both parties are extremely happy and proud that they could make each other comfortable and that they had built the most spectacular dwelling.
