Stylish house in Chingavanam that is a young NRI's ‘dream come true’

The spectacular house is designed in the contemporary minimalist style.

Subin, a native of Chingavanam in Kottayam district, Kerala is only 27 years old. But he had been nursing a special dream of building a house of his own before getting married. Subin, who is working abroad, is now extremely happy and proud that he fulfilled his dream by building a beautiful house in his hometown.

The family wanted the house to have four bedrooms. They also wanted the interiors to be designed in a way which makes maintenance easier. Shinto Varghese, the chief designer at the Concept Design Studio had designed this perfect house catering to the likes and interests of the family.

The spectacular house is designed in the contemporary minimalist style. The box style elevation allows excellent views and amazing space management in the 10 cents plot. The claddings highlight the double heighted wall. Meanwhile, the nearby show wall in grey hue too draws instant attention.

Designed in 2650 sq ft area, this elegant house has a car porch, sit-out, foyer, formal and family living areas, dining space, patio, kitchen with an adjacent work area, four bedrooms, upper living area and a balcony as well.

The plywood panelling in laminate finish adds oodles of charm to the living area. The interiors don the serene shades of white and off-white. A few walls are highlighted to add the perfect contrast. Gypsum false ceiling is installed in the common areas and in the bedrooms as well. A stylish wooden design too has been added on the false ceiling in the dining area. The LED lights play pivotal role in making the spaces look extremely pleasant and beautiful.

Vitrified tiles are paved on the floor in the common areas. Meanwhile, granite is used in the sit-out and on the stairway. The furniture is custom-made to suit the unique theme of the house. The handrails of the stairway are made in GI tubes in PU paint finish.

The bedrooms are bath-attached with wardrobes for storage. Meanwhile, the cots and wardrobes are built in plywood–veneer finish.

The kitchen cabinets are done in multi-wood with laminate finish. Meanwhile, the counter top is paved with nano white. An adjacent work area too is part of the kitchen area.

Perforated concrete blocks which allow the rainwater to seep into the earth are paved in the front yard. Lush green grass planted in layers between these blocks enhances the overall look of the landscape.
