This magnificent mansion in Thripunithura is exquisitely unique

Though the exteriors exude the regal charm of traditional style, the projection wall and the chic windows on one side of the elevation gives it a modern look.

Architect Rubense Paul had prepared the plan of this spectacular dwelling at Thripunithura after studying various factors including the climate of the area and the structure of the plot. Giving special attention to such details, Rubens has designed a mesmerizing architectural creation that is incredibly beautiful and comfortable to live in as well.

The house designed in the contemporary architecture style has all the modern facilities. Though the exteriors exude the regal charm of traditional style, the projection wall and the chic windows on one side of the elevation gives it a modern look. Lots of negative spaces were spotted in the plot due to its lack of a particular structure or shape. However, the tastefully done landscaping cleverly disguises these disadvantages and turns it into something that projects the elegance of the house.

Designs in straight and vertical lines are given prominence in both the interiors and the exteriors of the house. The interiors are designed in the open style. There are living and dining areas, family living space, kitchen and two bedrooms in the ground floor. Besides, there is a courtyard adjacent to the family living area. Meanwhile, two more bedrooms, an upper living area, open terrace, balcony and a swimming pool too are arranged in the upper storey. This majestic mansion is lavishly built on an area of 4200 sq ft.

The brilliantly designed interiors spaces are aesthetically decked up with unique materials and decor. The spaces have been arranged in a way which makes it easier to move around.

There is a splash of colour which makes the interiors look incredibly pleasant and cozy. However, it is the wooden paneling and ceiling which gives it a regal touch. The beautiful lighting in warm color tone plays a vital role in enhancing the overall look of the house. LED lights are mostly used in the exteriors and the interiors. Natural lighting and electric lights create an interesting play of illumination which grants excellent ambience to the interiors. The decor, in light colour theme, perfectly matches the general theme as well.

The large windows offer mesmerizing views of the beautiful landscape and lush greenery. The dining and the living areas are all open and interconnected. The landscape becomes a significant part of the house as it also acts as an entrance corridor from living/dining area to the verandah. It is from the dining area where one could enjoy the charming sceneries outside, in all its beauty. The fountain arranged beneath the stairway and the statement wall in the dining space are stunning features which make these areas stand out.

Dark shades of hues are used to highlight a few walls in the living area. Meanwhile, lighter shades don the rest of the house. The furniture is custom made to suit the theme. The Italian marble paved on the floor adds a regal touch to the spaces. All the bedrooms are arranged based on the theme of minimalism.

The pantry kitchen features the classic colour combination of white and grey. Built – in facilities are arranged in the pantry area. There is a counter which opens to the dining area and a crockery shelf as well. The design of the island kitchen gives prominence to utility and modern facilities. Besides a working kitchen, there is an adjacent work-area as well. The vertical garden, arranged just beside the kitchen, is the most attractive feature of this area. A quaint breakfast counter completes the kitchen.

The house features an elegant blend of flat and sloped roofs to suit the unique structure of the plot. Without any ‘over the top’ decorations or jarring features, this house stands out for its simple and classy designs, which look timeless. The architect proudly says that he has designed this perfect house not just by catering to the interests of the family members but also by making the beautiful nature a vital part of it.
