The brand new house owned by Narayanan at Munnad in Kasaragod, Kerala stands out for its uniquely stylish exteriors. It is the perfect combination of different architectural styles that make this house quite special and stand apart among other traditional or contemporary houses in the locality. Narayanan wanted his dream dwelling to be nothing like the surrounding houses. An elegant blend of flat, slope and curved roof make the elevation of this house look scintillating. The yellow, green and white hues perfectly highlight the unique features of the exteriors. Locally sourced laterite stones are used to construct the structure.
The charming house which has an area of 2900 sq ft has a car porch, sit-out, living and dining spaces, four bedrooms, kitchen and an upper living area.
A wall in every room is highlighted with a bright shade of colour, which immediately draws attention. The chic sofa in ‘L’ shape, adorning the living area, gives a classy vibe to the interiors.
A six-seater dining table is arranged in the dining area, where a wall is highlighted in pleasant yellow hue. The gypsum false ceiling and the elegant light fittings make the interiors look incredibly beautiful. The spiral stairway with wooden handrails is a prominent feature of the interiors. The ceiling above the stair area is in double height. A quaint yet comfortable courtyard, paved with artificial grass, is arranged adjacent to the stairway. Seating arrangements complete this area.
The cupboards in the kitchen are done in marine plywood. Three bedrooms are bath attached and there is a separate common bathroom as well. The construction of the house, including the structure and the furnishing, was completed on a budget of Rs 55 lakh.
