Don't blame it on 'Bengali': The truth about stairway blunder
The picture was taken from a house which was under construction.

The picture of a stairway blocking the entrance to a room of a building under construction has been doing the rounds on social media for quite some time now.

The photograph was captioned ‘the stunning work of a migrant 'Bengali' labourer’. It is evident from the picture that the stairway blocked the entrance to one of the rooms in the building. It was widely shared among Keralites assuming that it was a house in Kerala. However, a group of netizens argued that migrant labourers shouldn’t be judged on the basis of just one photo.

Meanwhile, the truth about the ‘mysterious’ stairway has finally been revealed. The picture indeed was taken from a house which was under construction. It is very common to redraw the plans or redesign the interiors according to the preferences of the owner.

Many argue that the site supervisor or the engineer or even the owner of the building must have supervised the stairway construction after they must have decided a change in the building design and that it wouldn't have escaped their eyes if it was a blunder.

More pictures of the same building suggests that the staircase was built consciously after deciding to change the entrance of the room.

All the same, new photographs of the house are also appearing widely on social media. It is clear from the new pictures that the position of the door has been changed.
