Miya’s pristine white mansion is a dream-like marvel
Miya has opted the white hue, her favorite color, for her dream dwelling.

Miya George has charmed the Malayali audience with quiet a handful of endearing roles. Now the actress has crossed the language borders and made a mark for herself in other industries as well. Miya, who has always nurtured vivid dreams about her abode from childhood itself, is happy and proud to show around her brand new house at Pravithanam, in the Pala – Thodupuzha route. The elegant single storied house which highlights the features of the traditional architectural style perfectly reflects the beauty of its bucolic surroundings.

Miya and her family had lived, for years, in a double storied house which had four bedrooms. The family had purchased that house when they moved from Mumbai to settle down in their hometown in Kerala. The house, however, had space constraints and hardly received natural light or fresh air. It was the unpleasant memories and experiences of having lived in a house constructed according to the taste of someone else which motivated the family to build a house which accommodates their dreams. They were also determined that the new house should be constructed by strictly following the vastu rules.

Architect K Anilkumar, owner of the Guideline Designers and Engineers at Koothattukulam, had designed this house by projecting the simplicity and elegance of white color theme. Besides, white is Miya’s favorite color which she preferred for her dream dwelling.

The ideas for the new house were mainly sprung from the experiences that the family had had while staying in their old house. This was also the main reason why they decided to build their new house based on the vastusastra. Miya and her mother had been worried about the main road in the south direction, ever since they bought the plot at Pravithanam. They were skeptical whether they could construct a house in that plot. However, after a year of heartfelt prayers and meticulous planning, the family decided to build a house there. It was Anilkumar’s suggestion that the house could have three entrances facing the south, east and west directions.

The compound wall too boasts of a stylish design which perfectly complements the traditional and elegant look of the house. This house welcomes lots of pleasant sunshine and refreshing cool air into the interiors. The house is designed by considering all the energy sources according to the vastu rules.

One can enjoy the beauty of the elevation, in all its glory, when you enter the front courtyard. Miya had always dreamed of her home to be in white theme and the unique elevation perfectly flaunts the charm of the hue. Chic designs and long glass windows add a classic touch to the overall look of the elevation. Natural stones are paved on the front courtyard and the lush green borders elevate its natural look. It leads to the elaborate car porch whose design matches incredibly well with the elevation. The spacious sit-out extends to an L-shaped verandah. It is the rectangular pillars which enhance the charm of the front sit out, designed in the black and white color theme.

As per the vastu rules two verandahs are designed in the east and west directions, extending to the south entrance, which faces the main road.

Formal living

The main entrance door opens to the formal living area. Miya had insisted, while drawing the plan, that the formal living area should be designed in such a way that it wouldn’t affect the privacy of the family members. The space amazingly highlights the elegance of minimalism. The false ceiling is designed as per the arrangement of the centralized air conditioning system.

The beauty of the minimal style can be seen in the rest of the interiors as well. The prayer area is arranged close to the spacious family living cum dining area. The old house didn’t have a special prayer area. As Miya and her family are ardent believers, they were firm in their decision that there should be an elegant prayer area in the new house, where they could feel the grace of the divine presence. The prayer area stands out for its beautiful wood works where the idols are arranged with devotion.

Wooden swing

Miya had dreamed about a vast and spacious hall and a wooden swing in it, ever since she was living in the limited space of her old house. The spacious family living-cum-dining area is the place which aptly reflects Miya’s idea of a charming abode. The four bedrooms and the kitchen are all built around this area. It is the beautiful pebble courtyard which separates the living and the dining areas. Miya’s favorite wooden swing is placed near this courtyard which is adorned with many indoor plants.

Favorite corner

The family living area is Miya’s favorite corner in the house. She loves to spend most of her free time in this family living space rather than her bedroom. The actress calls herself a TV addict, and the TV unit is arranged by highlighting a wall with wooden themed wall paper. From here one can enter the sit-out which faces the west direction. The L-shaped verandah, which extends to the sit-out in the south direction is designed according to the vastu rules.

The dining table can easily accommodate ten people. A wall here has been turned into storage-cum-crockery shelf. The dining area is perfectly illuminated by the natural light and the wash area is arranged with enough privacy. There is a common bathroom adjacent to the wash area. The modular kitchen is designed to suit the preferences of the family members. Big and small storage facilities are creatively arranged in attractive color themes in this kitchen. An adjacent work area, with similar facilities, completes the kitchen.

Bedrooms in four hues

The four bedrooms are arranged on both sides of the vast family-cum-dining area. The bedrooms are highlighted in four different color themes and gives prime importance to storage facilities as well. There are separate dressing areas with adjacent attached bathrooms in every bedroom. Miya’s bedroom is designed in her favorite black-and-white color theme. This bedroom, in its mesmerizing design and decor, truly reflects the charming personality of the actress.

The well, bore well and the swimming pool are built according to the vastu rules. It is the positive energy which emanate from every corner of the house that makes Miya’s dream abode a true marvel.
