Space crunch is a big challenge for building a house in a metro city like Bengaluru. But this big residence of 3,121 square feet area at Hosur in Bengaluru constructed on a plot of 3.50 cents shows how to overcome space shortage.

The house has been designed in a way to make maximum utilization of the available space, for which box pattern has been adopted. Contemporary style has been given to the elevation with stone cladding.

Thoughtfully designed interiors

The interior of the house has a living area, dining area, kitchen and four bedrooms. The front door opens to a large hall and the living and dining areas are arranged on its sides. Handmade paintings highlight each space and the main areas have marble flooring. Meanwhile, in bedrooms, wooden flooring is provided. To highlight the formal and family living areas, veneer panelling and texture painting are adopted.

Multi-purpose furniture

A unique feature of the house is the multi-purpose furniture. For instance, the main attraction in the entertainment room is a sofa that can be converted into a bed. Adjacent to this room is an open terrace, where a barbecue corner and sitting area are arranged. Landscaping has also been done here by planting artificial grass.

Six people can sit at the dining table and the wall behind it has been highlighted with veneer finish. Steel and toughened glass are the materials used for the handrails of the staircase, while leads to the upper hall. A sitting space and TV unit are arranged here too.

With a sliding cot and open wardrobe, the kids’ room of the house is designed in an artistic manner. In the kitchen, the cupboards have been given a veneer finish and Korean stone is laid on the counter. Gypsum ceiling and warm tone lighting are set up in most of the rooms.
