Things you will need: Face cleanser, moisturizer (with SPF), foundation primer, foundation, illuminator, concealer , compact powder, bronzer/blush, eye liner, eye shadow, kajal stick/eye pencil, mascara, chapstick, lipstick, lip gloss, eye lash curler, eyebrow powder, makeup brushes.
» Clean your face with a good quality face cleanser from a reputed brand. Remember to exfoliate your skin, if it looks dull. Exfoliation helps you get rid of dead cells, and makes your skin glow.
» Apply a moisturizer that contains good SPF (Sun protection factor) and massage well until its absorbed.
For dry skin: Use a rich cream based moisturizer
For normal skin: Choose a cream based hydrating moisturizer
For oily skin: Choose a water based moisturizer
» Apply a foundation primer so that your make up sets in well and the foundation will last longer. Apply a foundation that suits your skin tone. Mix a small amount of illuminator with the foundation to get a glowing effect if you want.
» Apply concealer below your eyes, and wherever there are dark spots or blemishes. Apply it in a triangular shape under the eyes and blend the outer corners of the triangle well. Remember to apply it in the corners of your eyes as those areas are darker than the rest of your face.
» Contouring: Choose a foundation a shade darker than your foundation and apply it on the T-zones of your face, Blend in well to get a perfect contoured face.
» Choose a compact or a loose mineral powder to set your makeup.
» Choose a bronzer or a blush that is not too darker than your skin tone. Apply the bronzer and work in a cross on your forehead, nose and cheeks with a hard angled brush or stippling brush. To make your face look slimmer apply the bronzer right under the apples on your cheeks(To find the apples smile and apply the bronzer in the hollow of your cheeks).
» Eye makeup: for the eye makeup to last longer, use an eye primer if you wish to. Curl your lashes with an eyelash curler, 15 seconds for each eye. Use an eyelash extender if you wish to. Apply eyeshadow to your lashes. Line your upper eyelid with a water proof eyeliner(liquid or gel based, and use a kajal on your waterline. Fill in your eyebrows with eyebrow powder if you love thick eyebrows. Apply mascara to finish off
» Lip makeup: Use a chapstick to moisturize your lips. Define your lips with a lip liner if you feel necessary. Apply a lipstick that suits your skin type. Use a lip gloss if you want a glossy finish.
» Use a make up setting spray from a reputed brand if you wish to.
Tips: If you wish to highlight your eye makeup, do not go overboard with the lips. Keep it nude
If you want to highlight the lip makeup, do not apply a heavy eye makeup.
When you use darker shades for the lips, keep it matte.
When you use light shades for the lips, keep it glossy.
Shades of coral, orange, red, brown, dark pink etc will suit people with dark skin tone
Red, pink, orange, purple etc will suit people with fair skin tone
Red, magenta, berry, mauve, pink etc will suit people with medium skin tone.
Always remember to remove your makeup with a makeup remover before going to bed, so as to keep your skin pores open and let it breathe.
