Even as the nation is gripped by election fever the fashion world is also following it up with equal fervour. Sarees which have faces of leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi printed on them have become the latest trend.
The idea of creating ‘Modi saree’ had in fact dawned on a fashion designer who worked in a textile shop in Surat. The sarees became instantly popular and Modi fans are now queuing up to purchase them. The drapes are designed by digitally printing the prime minister's face onto the fabrics.
Though sarees with Modi’s face were launched in 2014 as well, it was only distributed as part of election campaign. However, this time around, the sarees are all set to find a place in the wardrobe of fashionistas.
The designer sarees feature pictures of the Prime Minister with the images of beautiful flowers and banned currencies in the background.
The saree on which Narendra Modi’s smiling picture unfolds, on the pallav when it is worn in a single layer, has already become a trend-setter. The attires is designed in cotton and linen fabrics.
The fashion world is reportedly busy designing more such sarees with pictures of Modi as motifs and attractive borders.
