Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in Port Blair to take part in the 75th anniversary of freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose’s declaration of Azad Hind government formation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always been meticulous about the apparel he adorns. Whenever he has made a noticeable step forward with regard to his style and dress it created a splash in the media. His appearance in south India's traditional menswear, mundu, has has gone viral.

Modi appeared in mundu and kurata, when he was in Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He posted the photo on his official Instagram account with the comment, "A morning in scenic Port Blair...an early sunrise and traditional attire. Thinking about the brave heroes of our freedom struggle, who gave their lives for our freedom.”

The prime minister was in Port Blair to take part in the 75th anniversary of freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose’s declaration of Azad Hind government.

Modi will be hoisting a 150-metre high national flag at Port Blair to mark the day. He may release a commemorative postal stamp and a coin besides launching several infrastructure projects in the region.
