Other attractions of the gown were the style of an overcoat, sleeves with folds and buttons covered in satin. Eight words related to matrimony, including family, trust, compassion and so on were written on the gown. Nick’s suit was of purple shade and the Urdu word meaning ‘my life’ was embroidered on the fold of its inner jacket.

Parents of the bride and groom as well as their friends were also dressed in clothes designed by Ralph Lauren at the Christian ceremony held at Umaid Bhawan Palace.

At the Indian-style wedding, Priyanka’s attire was a red lehenga designed by Sabyasachi. Hand embroidery and flowers were its highlights. Other attractions were French stitching using silk thread and red crystals. Work on the lehenga was completed by 110 embroidery experts from Kolkata in 3,720 hours. Priyanka’s jewellery for the ceremony was made with 22 carat gold and studded with diamonds, emerald and Japanese pearls.

Nick took part in the Indian rituals in a silk sherwani and embroidered chikan dupatta. He acquired a royal look by wearing a headgear made with Chanderi cloth. Jewellery from the Sabyasachi heritage Jewellery Collection completed Nick’s wedding attire.
