Composer Shaan Rahman has endeared himself to millions of music lovers with his melodies and peppy numbers. Whether it's for Mappilappattu-pop fusion from ‘Oru Adaar Love’ or the foot-tapping number, 'Entammede Jimikki Kammal' from Mohanlal-starrer 'Velipadinte Pusthakam' Shaan Rahman's fame has crossed international borders.
A simple and jovial persona, Shaan has some unique fashion preferences too, which would leave any fashion enthusiast wondering. For example, there are seven pairs of shoes in Shaan’s collection in seven striking colours which he loves to match with his t-shirts and goggles.
“Have you ever seen a young man wearing pink shoes in real life? Well, I have a pair!” – Shaan says proudly. The musician also has loafers, boots and canvas/sport shoes coloured yellow, red, camouflage and brown. “White and black are formal shoes, which I wear to award functions. Aldo and Jack and Jones are my favorite footwear brands,” he reveals.
The musician cherishes a special affection for pink colour. He loves to match his pink shoes with pink t-shirt and casual shorts. “Many people have complimented me for my pink costume. I would rather call it my comfort colour,” he says.
Shaan Rahman musters his confidence by wearing two accessories – a pair of sunglasses and a wristwatch. An ardent fan of sunglasses, Shaan maintains a vast collection of them in his bureau, a pair of sky-blue framed Prado casual lens being the latest among them.
Shaan would choose casual white linen shirt and a pair of light-colored trousers over sherwanis to grace parties. He harbours a relentless hatred for 'heavy salwar-like sweating costumes with shawls.'
“I remember how my kin compelled me to wear sherwani on my wedding. At last I announced that I would rather appear naked before the guests than wearing such a costume,” he says.
The young music maestro flaunts black attire during public functions. With a wide range of black formals and party shirts, Shaan would choose wisely from the all-black column in his closet before starting off to an award night.
Shaan’s pleasing personality is complimented with the scent of Hugo Boss signature perfume, an aroma which he always keeps in his closet.
Shaan owes his stylish appearance to his wife Zaira’s fashion sense. “It is Zaira who mixes and matches my clothes and accessories to offer distinctive looks on each function. She loves dressing me up. Of late, I just stopped browsing my closet. Instead, I call her up and inform that I have a function on this particular day. Zaira would keep at least three costumes ready for me to choose from by the date,” Shaan says.
