Worried about hair loss? Here are 10 sure shot ways to better hair days:
Everyone-man or woman-wishes to have healthy hair. But our crazy lifestyles and unhealthy diet seldom work in favour of it, resulting in limp, brittle hair. From dandruff and hair fall to split ends and thinning, our hair-related beauty woes are dime a dozen. Though the volume of hair you spot is largely hereditary, there are a few lifestyle modifications you can make to alter the situation to your benefit.
1. Opt for high-protein diet
Our hair is made up of a protein called keratin. Th e body uses protein to make keratin, which is a major component of the hair strand. Protein also contributes to the formation of blood cells which carry oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles. Hence, if you are not consuming enough protein in your diet, your hair is likely to become dry, brittle and weak, resulting in hair loss. So, ensure that you have enough protein in your diet.
2. More leafy vegetables
Green, leafy vegetables are the best food for hair growth. Spinach, leafy greens, broccoli, beans and green peppers are rich in nutrients that help promote hair growth. Regular intake of green, leafy vegetables can strengthen the roots of hair. Their presence in the diet also reduces hair fall.
3. Omega-3 supplements
Omega-3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties which can help to open the hair follicles, promoting healthy hair growth. They also keep your scalp and hair hydrated. Since omega-3 fatty acids are not made by the body itself, it must be obtained through food items like walnuts, almonds or fish.
4. Avoid using very hot water
Hot water for hair wash is not a good idea as it can lead to dryness of the scalp, create tangles and thus lead to hair fall. It can also lead to premature greying.
5. Use wide-tooth comb
Always use a wide-tooth comb for brushing hair to detangle and avoid breakage.
6. Avoid chemical treatments
These processes can damage the hair and lead to split ends, dryness and hair fall.
7. Drink enough water
Not drinking enough water can lead to dry scalp which can lead to unpleasant conditions like hair shedding, itching and flaking of scalp. So, drinking enough water is necessary.
8. Avoid blow dryers
Heat-styling tools are great for giving your hair that perfect look but they can make your hair dry, rough and even lead to hair fall. They strip your hair of its natural oils and proteins by breaking down its hydrogen bonds.
Dandruff -free scalp is extremely important for healthy hair. The lack of proper hair care, dry skin, improper diet, stress and lack of enough shampooing often lead to dandruff. So, what is needed is washing hair twice a week with good anti-dandruff shampoos. Shampooing removes dead skin cells and excess oil from scalp.
10. Use mild shampoos
While shampooing is necessary, it should not be forgotten that shampoos and conditioners contain harsh chemicals. Hence, mild shampoos and conditioners and natural recipes should be used.
