Kozhikode: In a bid to make Kozhikode an IT hub for entrepreneurs, the government cyberpark has initiated the programme called Hackathon 2016.
This programme is aimed at promoting startups in the region and bringing Malabar's expertise in the IT field to full view. The event, will conclude on Saturday. The software developed here will have the potential to evolve into popular products or even turn into companies.
As many as 24 teams have been selected from over 200 teams registered from across the country for the contest. Among them 8 teams are from the Malabar region.
The criteria is to 'start from scratch' and end with a working prototype. CEOs of prominent companies and IT experts will reach the cyber park on Saturday to select the winner of Hackathon 2016.
Those who win the support of corporate sponsors will acquire free office space in the cyberpark to avail of expert guidelines and to innovate their technical know how.
Hackathon 2016 is jointly organized by 'Nasscom 10,000 Startups', Kerala Startup Mission, E and Y, Calicut Forum for IT (CAFIT).
