Gopi Sunder continues top form in new 'Charlie' song

Composer Gopi Sunder makes it a point to grab the attention of the listeners with the very beginning of his songs. He does that brilliantly, again, with his new song Chithirathira from the Dulquer Salmaan-starrer Charlie.

The rushed tongue-twisting Malayalam lyrics make us stay with the song which opens up in the company of violins. Vijay Yesudas is the solo singer and Gopi Sunder has thrown in all that usually does to make the number a captivating listen. There's that tint of Arabic music too that Gopi uses wisely between the stanzas.

Vijay Yesudas delivers a spirited singing and his vocals sound so similar to that of Dulquer himself towards the end of the track. Gopi Sunder does complete justice to the lyrics penned efficiently by Santhosh Varma in Chithirathira and we have another quality number.

The song was released online by record label Muzik247 on Monday, in addition to the six tracks the album had. Check out our music review of Charlie here.

Charlie, directed by Martin Prakkat, will hit the screens on Thursday.

Apart from Dulquer, a slew of actors including Parvathy, Nedumudi Venu, Aparna Gopinath and Chemban Vinod play prominent characters in the much-awaited film. Editing is by Shameer Mohammed where as cinematography is by Jomon T. John.

The movie is produced by Shebin Backer, Joju George and Martin Prakkat under the banner of Finding Cinema.
