When asked about her co-star Dulquer Salmaan, Kalyani said, “I don’t even remember seeing Dulquer after he became a star. I think we may have seen each other at a function. It was only when Dulquer came to me saying ‘at last we meet each other’ that I saw him closely. However, I have seen all of his movies and he is one of my favorite actors.”

Revealing that it's been stressful days while shoot, Kalyani thanked Dulquer and Anoop for being the constant pillar of support. “I would have run away because of tension had they not been there. It was exactly the opposite of the sets of the Telugu movie that I had acted in,” she said.

Ask about her character and she said, “I have felt a special bond with my character. This movie portrays the relationship between a mother and a daughter. Anoop has written the same words and dialogues that I and my mother often say while speaking to each other. I wondered how he knew about all that.”

Kalyani further mentioned that her parents always wished her to make a good debut in Malayalam. “My father had always wished for me to make my Malayalam debut through a movie directed by Sathyan Anthikad. He always said that Sathyan uncle would be a great teacher. He doesn’t talk with such respect and love about someone, so often. Finally, when Sathyan uncle’s son came looking for me, my father said that it must be the will of the God. My mother too was excited when she came to know that Anoop is Sathyan uncle’s son. She perceives this movie as something from our own home,” she said.

“I felt a bit scaredwhile acting alongside actors like Urvshi and KPAC Lalitha. Acting comes so naturally to them. One day I went home and told my father that sometimes I felt Shobana ma’am as my own mother. She gave the same care and affection that my mother would give, both as the character and on set as well. There were times, when unknowingly, I became her daughter.

It was like my mother was actually standing beside me. I forgot that I was in a movie. Shobana ma’as is that natural. I really am fortunate to make my entry into Malayalam cinema, working with such people who are closer to me. When Shobana ma’am held me close, I felt only a mother could hold someone that close. I experienced the same wonderful moments that I had enjoyed with my mother. Then, we too would act amazingly, without even realizing,” she said.
