Actor Mohanlal isn't a WhatsApp user anymore. This is to reclaim time and happiness, he says. Read on to know why he made this decision and how life has changed for him since then.
"I pray once I get up every morning. But check the phone, and disconcerting news and pictures pop up. There is more dissatisfaction than contentment there. I used to watch people, trees and buildings while travelling in car. They could even be recognised during frequent travels. That's not the case anymore for some time now. Some people met at airports have become good friends. Conversations with them were often amusing. But everyone has their heads planted in their phones nowadays", he says
"Now I have more time to myself. Newspapers have become a delight again in the mornings. Days are well spent and I often return to half-read books. There is a lot of time to reflect on one's thoughts too. Many messages have made me sad during work. They make a negative impact. How can someone work well after watching a video of a child being thrown onto a cot?” , Mohanlal asks.
"WhatsApp is not necessary between loved ones. Important messages can be passed on by mail. There are other ways of communication too. A huge weight has been lifted off me. No one asked me to do it, nor am I asking anyone either", he added.
