Film and television producer Ekta Kapoor is now a mother to a baby boy. The 43-year-old, just like her brother Tusshar Kapoor, opted the surrogate route to embrace motherhood.

Reportedly, the child was born on January 27 and is doing fine.

In an interview with a website, when Ekta was asked if she had plans to tie the knot, she had sensibly answered, “All my friends, who were married are now unmarried. With the amount of divorces I have seen recently, I think I am the more patient one. At least, I waited for it. I definitely know one thing, that I want a child but marriage, I don’t know. I don’t have time for myself, if I get a couple of hours, I would like to go to a spa. I look forward to a one-day vacation with friends. I love my work, so I don’t crib. People tell me to give it up if you have such a problem with it. I won’t, I would get so bored. I’d rather be busy than bored.”

Ekta and Tusshar Kapoor are children of veteran actor Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor.

Earlier, Tusshar had welcomed a baby boy Laksshya on June 1, 2017. At that time, talking to IANS, he said, "Initially my parents were a little bit apprehensive whether I should announce the child to be one born through IVF and surrogacy or not. Everybody in the country has been very accepting. That was a bit surprise for me because I thought there would be diverse views, some kind of 'oohs and ahas' about it, all kinds of opinion. But nothing of that sort happened. Especially the media has been so supportive of Laksshya and my choice of having a family in this manner."
