The trailer launch of budding actress Priya Prakash Warrier's debut Bollywood movie 'Sridevi Bungalow' was held on Sunday.
She was seen in a strapless black bodysuit with a gold sequin floor-length skirt. She donned heavy make-up including heavy mascara, eyeliner, red-tinted lips and pink eyeshadow. Keeping her curls intact, Priya chose long earrings along with it. Her looks in fact seems to be modelled on Deepika Padukone's appearance at the 2012 Vogue Beauty Awards. Here're both the pics for you:
After photo sessions and trailer launch, the actress sat down to answer a few questions.
When asked which Hindi film she wanted to do in recent times, she said: "I wanted to become a part of ‘Simmba'. There were lots of rumours that I was part of ‘Simmba' but I wish that were true because I am a great fan of Ranveer Singh. At the screening of ‘Uri', I told Ranveer that ‘I am a big fan of yours'. He replied that ‘I really liked your wink'. It was overwhelming for me,” she said.
Now that Priya is entering Bollywood, is she ready to compete with names like Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara and Janhvi Kapoor in the Hindi film world?
She replied: "First of all, I think they are all very senior actors and they are doing their work very well. I just want to do my thing and create a space for myself in this industry. People know me as a wink girl but what I want is that people accept me as an actress as a whole and not just about a wink."
When asked if she knows Hindi, she said, “I do understand and speak Hindi but just that the flow might not be there.” One reporter, when requests her to speak in Malayalam, she does asking all to watch her movie and keep supporting and pray for her. (Watch in the video below)
Besides Priya, ‘Sridevi Bungalow' also stars Priyanshu Chatterjee. It is directed by Prasanth Mambully. Touted to be a thriller, the last scene of trailer reminded everyone of late actress Sridevi's death and to this she diplomatically answered: “You will get to know when you watch the movie. I won't spoil the curiosity. The film is being made on the creative idea of the director.”
“Sridevi was very good in dancing and how good is Priya” asked one and she replied, “I won't say I am a great dancer but yes, I can manage.”
In the video that is doing rounds on social media, while one get to see Priya speak up easily, her co-star Priyanshu Chatterjee's expression is what catching everyone's attention. We too don't want to spoil about it, so watch it for yourself:
