After the much-celebrated wedding of Deepika and Ranveer, Bollywood is ready to witness yet another star-studded function.
Priyanka Chopra will enter into wedlock with Nick Jonas on Sunday in a Hindu ceremony, followed by a Christian one. The three-day event will be held at the luxurious Umaid Bhawan Palace where the venue charges are $60,000 (Rs 41,86,200) for a single night's stay.
Specialities for guests
The couple to-be have ensured that everyone has a welcome pack waiting for them in their room.
A wishing well tree has also been set up which will allow invitees to hang up messages of love and support for the couple. A special personalised silver coin will be given to the guests. It features Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi on it.
Recently, in an interview with an international magazine, Nick revealed that he will be following Indian custom and arriving on horseback 'dressed like a king', wearing a turban and holding a sword.
Guests have already started arriving at the palace since Thursday.
While there is no official confirmation as who will actually attend the ceremony, several celebrities are expected to have made the wedding guest list.
Dwayne Johnson, Armie Hammer, Lupita Nyong’o, and Kelly Ripa are among the few. The Ambani family was clicked on Friday evening at the Jodhpur airport.
Other guests who have already arrived at the Palace include costume designer Mickey Contractor, YouTube sensation Lily Singh aka Superwoman, Nick’s friend Chord Overstreet, singer Manasi Scott, groomsman Jonathan Tucker and actress Yasmine Al Massri.
Salman Khan’s sister Arpita and her son Ahil were also seen arriving at the Palace on Friday.
The 'committed' story
According to reports, the first time Priyanka met Jonas was at a Vanity Fair Oscars party last year.
Apparently, the two had been texting for a few months from then. Later, at an event, Jonas is said to have put down his drink and said in front of a crowd and told Priyanka, “You’re real. Where have you been all my life?” and made a lovely proposal getting down on one knee.
It wasn’t until the 2017 Met Gala that the media started speculations that the two were seeing each other and since then wedding stories made their way.
