Actor Mamukkoya famously asked Asif Ali in the movie 'Ustad Hotel:' “Aren't you (actor) Kunchacko Boban?” Mollywood audience responded with a loud round of laughter to that scene in the movie halls. But has any popular actor been mistaken for another star in real life? Tovino Thomas says yes!

In the latest episode of 'Never I have ever,' an exclusive web series from Mazhavil Manorama, Tovino revealed his real-life experience of getting mistaken as Unni Mukundan at an airport – that too, in front of another popular new-gen actor, who is none other than Dulquer Salmaan.

“It was during the shooting days of 'Mayanadi' that I had to take a flight from Kochi to Chennai on a fine afternoon. On reaching the airport, I learned that Dulquer Salmaan was also traveling to somewhere from the next terminal. I visited him and started a brief conversation,” Tovino recalled.

Suddenly a middle-aged woman broke the security system and rushed towards the actors enthusiastically. When Tovino stepped back thinking she would be a fan of Dulquer Salmaan, the woman surpassed Dulquer and embraced Tovino forcefully.

“I was so amused! I never imagined people would notice me when I stood beside Dulquer Salmaan. When I regained composure and started thinking high about myself, the woman called out with immense affection: “Oh! My dear Unni Mukundan..!”

Dulquer reportedly broke into laughter instantly. Tovino said he was drained of all the self-confidence he gathered. However, the 'Mayanadi' fame did not correct the woman. He had a valid reason for not clarifying his name: “What if she doesn't recognise the name Tovino Thomas?!”
