Dubai: Malayalam actor Dileep reached Dubai on Tuesday afternoon along with his mother. Dileep's wife, Kavya Madhavan, and daughter Meenakshi, who is having exams, skipped the trip.
Dileep, who is out on bail after spending more than 80 days in jail in connection with the February 17 actress attack case, is in Dubai for the inauguration of an outlet of 'Dhe Puttu,' a restaurant chain that he co-owns with director Nadhirshah, in Al Karama.
Dileep took special permission from the High Court to make the business trip as the court had denied him permission to travel outside India while granting bail.
In a low-key affair, Dileep was received at the airport by friends and partners who draped a shawl. Dileep, who is restricted from meeting media by the court, left to an undisclosed location from the airport; he is expected to visit the restaurant in the evening.
His partner Nadhirshah met mediapersons earlier on Tuesday and briefed about the restaurant. The restaurant will be inaugurated on Wednesday.
The restaurant, on the ground floor of Al Shama building behind Park Regis, Al Karama, was ready for opening earlier but it was put on hold after Dileep's arrest on July 10.
