Popular editor Mahesh Narayanan who made his mark in Malayalam cinema as director with the blockbuster film Take Off has said that the film will not be made in Hindi as planned earlier.
The reason the filmmaker offered, while talking to Manorama Online, was the similarity between the subjects of Take Off and the upcoming Salman Khan-starrer, Tiger Zinda Hai.
The crew of the super hit movie in Malayalam, starring Parvathy, Kunchacko Boban and Fahad Faasil in the lead, was planning to remake the film in Hindi. Airline major, Jet Airways, had also plans to venture into movie industry with the Hindi version of Take Off. Talks on the same were in the last stages.
The crew had decided to shelve the Hindi Take Off after reports that Tiger Zinda Hai narrated a story in a similar context.
Now, with the release of Tiger Zinda Hai trailer, director Mahesh Narayanan completely withdrew from his Hindi project.
Meanwhile, Salman Kahan is being trolled over the film as Take Off revolves around the plight of a woman stranded in the strife-torn middle east region, Tiger Zinda Hai is hero-centric.
The Salman Khan-starrer is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar who last made the block buster film Sultan with the same actor in the lead. The film is a sequel to Ek Tha Tiger, directed by Kabeer Khan. Katrina Kaif is the female lead. Paresh Rawal, Sudeep, Angad Bedi, among others appear in prominent roles in the film.
The movie, produced by Yash Raj films, will hit the screens on December 22 as a Christmas release.
