The shooting of V.K. Prakash's directorial venture titled Prana has gone on the floors. Actress Nithya Menen will play the lead character in the film. P.C. Sreeram, who is considered the guru of Indian cinematography, will crank the camera. Prana will be Sreeram's come back film in Malayalam after a hiatus.
Oscar winner Rasul Pookutty will manage the sound while Louiz Banks, renowned jazz exponent, will be heading the music department of the film.
Adopting sync sound technology for the first time in India, the movie will be made simultaneously in Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada. Prana is produced by Anita Raj and Praveen S. Kumar under the banner Raj Productions and Real Studio. Sunil S. Pillai will be the editor of the movie. Central Pictures is distributing the film in Kerala.
The Prana is a thriller set in the backdrop of a beautiful hill station in South India. Executive producers include Suresh Raj and Teji Manamel. K.J. Vinayan is the chief associate director. While the production design is by Bava, the costume is taken care of by Deepali.
The stills are by Sreenath Unnikrishnan and the designs are by Vincy Raj. Badusha will be the production controller of the film which has Manju Gopinath as its PRO.
