'Mudipookal Vadumpol', a short film with arresting scenes and profound message A scene from the short film

Mudippookkal Vaadumbol, written and directed by Kamalkumar, is a short film that is gaining accolades on social media. The short movie is just over twenty minutes and appeals with its titillating flow, a plot that generates curiosity.

The background score elevates the mood of the story and gels well with the narrative. The performance of the actors is flawless. Acting by Aadhya Prajeeth (Shalu) and Arathy Prajeeth (Meera) contributes well to the conflict and the emotional tenor. Prakash Madhavan who appears as a palliative care representative and Chithra Sathyanath who plays the role of Siji (Shalu's friend)'s mom pitch on the right spot.

The script is neatly written. The dialogues are realistic and deftly devised. However, there are areas too where some lag is felt. Also, some misleading suggestions intended to fuel the suspense, play the spoil sport.

All those drawbacks are negated by the mesmerizing climax scenes and a laudable message conveyed at the end. The editing and camera work are commendable.
