Various film organisations, including theatre owners, producers and the Film Chamber have given a complaint against Chalachithra Academy executive member G.P. Ramachandran in which he had called for the boycott and vandalization of theatres screening Dileep starrer Ramaleela.

'The theaters that plan to exhibit this obscene film should be destroyed,' GP Ramachandran had stated in the post with the hashtag #BoycottRaamaleela.

The organizations have requested the Chief Minister to take action against his boycott call and to remove him from the council. The complaint stated that Ramachandran's post is equal to calling for a riot and promoting piracy.

Call to destroy theaters that screen Dileep's Ramaleela; complaint filed Ramachandran in a Facebook post on September 14 called to destroy theaters that would release Ramaleela.

Earlier, the producer of the film Ramaleela, Tomichan Mulakupadam had also lodged a complaint with IG P. Vijayan in this regard.

Dileep's Ramaleela is one of the most-awaited projects of 2017. However, since the actor's arrest on July 10 for allegedly plotting the February 17 actress attack, the release of the movie had been indefinitely delayed. The film's makers, however, last week announced that the movie would be released on September 28.

Ramaleela, which features Dileep as politician Ramanunni, is scripted by writer-director Sethu. While Prayaga Martin is the female lead, Radhika Sarathkumar essays a pivotal role in the movie.
