At a time when many celebrities are making a beeline to visit actor Dileep at the Aluva sub jail, the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) continue to stand with the victim of the February 17 attack.
While many women artists launched a signature campaign titled 'Avalkoppam' (With her) at the venue of the Kerala State Film Awards event, actress Rima Kallingal had her own way of extending support for the young actress, who was brutally attacked by a gang in Kochi on February 17.
Rima Kallingal presented a contemporary dance item that focused on bringing justice to women victims. The coinage of different dance forms, beautifully backed by soulful music with Rima holding the 'Avalkoppam' (With her) banner at the end of performance came as a surprise for the audience. Interestingly, the audience at the venue enjoyed the show and whole-heartedly accepted Rima’s presentation.
On top of it, the photos of her performance have been widely circulated on social media with many users extending their support for the actress as well.
The actress, who has worked in Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada films, was attacked on the night of February 17 in Kochi. Actor Dileep was arrested on July 10 in connection with the case after Pulsar Suni, the main accused, named him as the conspirator.
