Thiruvananthapuram: Seldom can you get to see an actress drop guard and sing and dance in abandon on the road.
National Award winning actress Surabhi Lakshmi, in line with her alternative theater traditions, was seen singing and dancing mildly to the staccato rhythms of a folk song on Manaveeyam Veedhi, the 'culture street' of the Kerala capital.
The art connoisseurs of the capital had organized an informal get-together to honor Surabhi, who had recently won the National Award for her performance in Minnaminungu.
Surabhi, who was part of the vibrant experimental theater movement of the city, merged with the crowd and was at ease. Theater director Reghoothaman felicitated her. She posed for selfies before leaving the veedhi.
