Retired teacher attacked with coconuts dies in Palakkad

The deceased was identified as K K Vidhyadharan

Nenmara: A retired teacher who was under treatment after being beaten up by anti-social elements has succumbed to his injuries. The deceased has been identified as K K Vidhyadharan (74) of Saj Bhavan, Kayaradi in Ayiloor in Palakkad district. He was allegedly hit with coconuts on his face.

The attackers include three juveniles aged 16 and 17. The three are addicted to drugs the police said.

The attack took place on December 17. Vidhyadharan was attacked for questioning unauthorised plucking of coconuts and boozing on his plot.

Vidhyadharan, who suffered serious injuries on his jaw bones and face, was under treatment in a private hospital in Thrissur. He succumbed at 10.30 pm on Thursday.

The police, who slapped charges of attempt to murder, picked up the three juveniles from the Kayaradi colony the same day itself.
